The friendly team at Showground Dental are focused on helping you to find your confidence and bring out your smile. All our staff members are friendly and equip with the skills necessary to assist you during your treatment. We understand that for some patients dentistry or dental procedures can be daunting and our team offers noise cancellation headset, TV for viewing and can further assist you with use of inhalation sedation.

Our dentists ensure you are informed each step of the way during your procedure and are happy to answer any questions you have in relation to your treatment. All 3 dentists speak fluent Chinese, Mandarin and English.

Meet Our Team

Dr Annie Lin

Annie graduated from The University of Queensland Dental School in 2006. She worked in private practices in Carindale and Manly West before founding Showground Dental with her younger sister Amanda Lin in 2012. Annie pays great attention to detail, which is reflected in her dental career. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry including cosmetics, root canal therapy and crown and bridge. Annie is renowned for her gentle and caring approach and always ensures her patients feel at ease.

Dr Amanda Lin

Amanda graduated from The University of Queensland Dental School in 2008. Ever since, Amanda has worked in both private and public sectors. Amanda takes pride in her experience in all aspects of general dentistry but has a particular interest in minimal intervention and preventative dentistry. Amanda’s motto is that “prevention is better than cure”. She strongly promotes prevention care programs as she believes prevention dentistry is more cost-effective in the long term.

Dr Albert Lin

Dr Albert Lin graduated from UQ in 2007 and has called Brisbane his home for over 20 years now. He enjoys working with a smile and believes listening to your needs and concerns is the key to delivering the optimal result. Keeping things simple and relaxed is his approach to dentistry. Having spent many years working with oral surgeons, Albert had gained valuable experiences with removing difficult wisdom teeth. He shares a passion for traveling and frequents overseas dental volunteering. You can also speak to him in either English, Mandarin or basic Spanish.

Dr Yao Sheng Ng

Dr Yao Sheng graduated from The University of Queensland Dental School in 2019. He is passionate about winning “hearts and minds” when it comes to dental treatment. Yao takes pride in giving each of his patients a pleasant dental experience, believing that a visit to the dentist should not be something to dread. Yao also believes in working with you to create a treatment plan based on your needs and requirements. Outside of private practice Yao is also involved heavily in dental volunteering work, bringing dental health to vulnerable members of our community. Yao is also fluent in both English and Mandarin.

Dr Amy Liu

Dr Amy Liu graduated from Griffith University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and a Graduate Diploma of Dentistry for which she was awarded an accolade of Academic Achievement Awards throughout her degree. Having grown up in Brisbane, Dr Amy has been committed to providing exceptional dental care in private practice for her local community. She regularly attends continuing professional development courses to ensure that she is up to date with the most advanced techniques available. Dr Amy thrives on delivering comprehensive, compassionate dental care for all her patients, always discussing her treatment plans thoroughly. She prides herself on her gentle natured approach and believes in going the extra mile to provide a personalised and positive dental experience. Dr Amy also has a calling to dental volunteering and has traveled to the likes of Cambodia and Papua New Guinea in the past. Locally, she volunteers her dental services at the Micah Project Inclusive Health Clinic , an organization that works with people experiencing poverty and homelessness in Brisbane. Away from the practice, Dr Amy enjoys time with her family and cooking up a storm!

Dr Lydia See

Graduated  in  2010  from  the  University  of  Western  Australia,  Lydia  has  since  focused  her clinical  practice  in  the  areas  of  special  care  dentistry  (namely  with  medically complex/compromised,  head and neck cancer, dental  phobias and  geriatric  populations)  and  community  dentistry (namely  in  coordination  of  volunteering  projects  for disadvantaged populations).  Pursuing  a  much love  passion,  in  2018,  she  completed  a  Masters  of  Science  in  Geriatric  Dentistry  at  the University  of  Southern  California.  Lydia’s experience has spanned across the public and private sectors in general practice and hospital dentistry as well as tertiary education sector as a clinical tutor and senior lecturer. She is currently undertaking post graduate studies in Special Needs Dentistry. In her spare time, Lydia likes to hang out with friends and source the best vegetarian restaurants.

Dr Eliza Chen

Dr Eliza Chen graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Dental Science (Hons) and is a member of the Australian Dental Association. She believes that excellent preventative care and oral health education are paramount and inclusive in providing the best dental service for patients. Therefore, when you see her for your first check-up and clean, she will most likely give you the low-down on toothbrushing and flossing (if you haven’t already heard it before). With a friendly manner and gentle approach, she looks forward to meeting more people and strives to provide each of her patients a pleasant dental experience. Outside of work, Eliza enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is also a big vegetarian foodie, who likes trying out different recipes. Other than English, Eliza can also converse in Mandarin and basic Hokkien.

Practice Manager Sophie

Sophie graduated from Tafe in 2017 with a Diploma of Dental Technology. She has also obtained her Certificate III In Dental Assisting. You can find Sophie mainly at the front desk welcoming patients and establishing a strong patient and practice relationship. She values great patient care by ensuring the best service to help patients maintain their oral health. Her passions in life include travelling to exciting places where she enjoys exploring different cultures, new experiences and adventures. During her down time, she tries to maintain a good work-life balance by spending time with family and friends. Sophie takes great pride and joy when patients leave the practice with praise and hopes that every patient who enters leaves with a big smile on their face.

Senior Dental Assistant Cyren

My name is Cyren and I was born in year 2000. While being younger than the average dental assistant I am passionate and intrigued by the dental world. I have been a Dental Assistant for my entire working career and excited for many years to come. Along side dentistry I spend my time caring for my many house plants and the fur baby’s I live with. While the dental world generates a lot of waste, outside of work I live a vegetarian, minimal waste lifestyle.

Dental Assistant Demi

Demi is a senior dental assistant and has been part of the Showground Dental team since 2016. She has a Cert III and Cert IV in Dental Assisting and Radiography as well as a wealth of practical experience. Demi is passionate about looking after her patients and making them feel at ease.

Outside of work Demi enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. She enjoys travelling, from a quick day trip to the Gold Coast to longer holidays abroad. She is passionate about animals of all sorts. Her current pets include a dog (Cannoli), a cat (Cheeky) and a cockatiel (Bruno).

Volunteering Dentistry

Whenever time allows, Annie and Amanda likes to take part in voluntary work, such as providing dental service to the disadvantaged communities.

Their service groups include newly arrived refugees and rural town residents who would otherwise need to wait for years for dental services.
